RACING INCIDENT ENDS TAKA’S HOPES

Taka Nakagami’s hopes at the Grand Prix of Aragon were ended on the opening lap of Sunday’s race at MotorLand Aragon by a racing incident with Marc Márquez. The LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider came together with his HRC colleague and went down heavily, but fortunately avoided serious injury following the dramatic incident at turn eight.

It was a disappointing end to what had been an encouraging weekend for the Japanese star who was also fastest in Sunday morning’s warm-up session. Departing from the fourth row of the grid, Taka made a good start and was challenging for a top-10 spot after the opening corners, but then contacted with Márquez and slid along the track causing damage to his right hand.
