NAKAGAMI EXCITED BY AUSTIN CHALLENGE
LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider Takaaki Nakagami enters this weekend’s Grand Prix of the Americas in positive mood after claiming his first MotoGP points in Argentina in the last round. The Japanese rookie produced a battling ride to finish 13th at Termas de Rio Hondo, helping the LCR outfit to top the team standings after two rounds.
Nakagami is looking to build on that encouraging performance and admits he will take heart from his result in the Moto2 category at this venue last season when he finished third in Austin.

“The last race was good for the team and for myself as it was my first points in MotoGP. Race by race I think we are improving, but as always this is a new circuit for me on the MotoGP bike so we have to learn.
“Here there are 20 corners and it is going to be difficult, but last year I had a podium here with Moto2 so I have a good feeling with the circuit. I will try to do my best this weekend and get the best result possible for the team.”
