LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider Takaaki Nakagami cannot wait to get started ahead of his debut season in the MotoGP class. The 2018 World Championship gets underway in Qatar this weekend and Nakagami is hoping to make a big impact at the Losail International Circuit.

The exciting Japanese rookie has already served notice of his potential with some impressive displays over the winter testing program, especially when finishing tenth fastest in Thailand. The 26-year-old admits a top-10 finish is his aim for the opening race in Qatar, but is aware that a challenging weekend lies ahead.

#30 Takaaki Nakagami

“I’m happy we’re finally here at the first race weekend of the season after we’ve done three good tests at Malaysia, Thailand and here. We got stronger test by test, but of course there are many new things to learn at the race weekend”.

“Hopefully we can get good results from each day and finish in the top 10 on Sunday. The conditions might change day by day which will be difficult, but we’ll try to adapt and have a good weekend.”
