TOUGH QUALIFYING DAY FOR TAKA AT SILVERSTONE

It proved a tough day of qualifying for Takaaki Nakagami at Silverstone as he claimed a spot on the seventh row of the starting grid for the British Grand Prix. The LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider could not find the improvement he was looking for on a difficult day for the HRC contingent and will now look to show all of his battling qualities in Sunday’s race.

Sitting 18^th overnight, the Japanese star was targeting a big push in FP3 but, despite improving, struggled for rhythm on his RC213v and had to settle for 20^th position. Although his race pace was more encouraging in FP4 as he took 14^th, he could not find a quick lap time in a frustrating Q1 session and will now look for a quick getaway in tomorrow’s race.
