POSITIVE START FOR TAKA IN VALENCIA

Takaaki Nakagami put himself in a good position after rain made life difficult on the opening day of free practice for the Europa Grand Prix. Wet and windy conditions ensured the MotoGP class weren’t able to push as they would have liked, but the LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider still managed to claim fourth position in FP2 to remain well on course for Saturday’s Q2 session.

Fresh from his pole in Aragon last time out, Nakagami had to manage conditions on a wet surface in FP1 as he eventually finished in 11th place. Although there were still damp patches on the track at Circuit Ricrado Tormo in FP2, Taka improved throughout the session and ended the day just three tenths down on overnight leader Jack Miller.
